Who was the most beautiful woman in the Bible? 

The Bible describes a lot of women as beautiful, from the book of Genesis to the book of Job. However, some of these women were described to be of unusual beauty which has stirred up the debate as to who the most beautiful woman in the Bible was.

Here’s a list of some of the women the Bible described as beautiful

  • Sarah 

 Gen 11:12,14-15 ~ As he was approaching the border of Egypt, Abram said to his wife, Sarai, “Look, you are a very beautiful woman. When the Egyptians see you, they will say, ‘This is his wife. Let’s kill him; then we can have her!’ And sure enough, when Abram arrived in Egypt, everyone noticed Sarai’s beauty When the palace officials saw her, they sang her praises to Pharaoh, their king, and Sarai was taken into his palace. 

Sarah was over 65 years old at this point  

  • Rebekkah 

Genesis 26:7 ~ When the men who lived there asked Isaac about his wife, Rebekah, he said, “She is my sister.” He was afraid to say, “She is my wife.” He thought, “They will kill me to get her, because she is so beautiful.

  • Rachel  

Genesis 29:17 ~ There was no sparkle in Leah’s eyes, but Rachel had a beautiful figure and a lovely face. 

  • Bathsheba  

2 Samuel 11:2 ~ Late one afternoon, after his midday rest, David got out of bed and was walking on the roof of the palace. As he looked out over the city, he noticed a woman of unusual beauty taking a bath. 

  • Vashti 

Esther 1:11 ~ to bring Queen Vashti to him with the royal crown on her head. He wanted the nobles and all the other men to gaze on her beauty, for she was a very beautiful woman

  • Esther 

Esther 2:17 ~ He was bringing up Hadassah, that is Esther, the daughter of his uncle, for she had neither father nor mother. The young woman had a beautiful figure and was lovely to look at, and when her father and her mother died, Mordecai took her as his own daughter. 

  • Job’s daughters  

Job 42:15 ~ And in all the land there were no women so beautiful as Job’s daughters. And their father gave them an inheritance among their brothers. 

Which one of these women was the most beautiful?

Most of these women lived in different eras and as we know, the standard of beauty changes all the time. Beauty is also subjective and what may be regarded as beautiful in one nation may be average or ugly in another. So, it’s hard to say for sure which one of them was the most beautiful.
