If Job was blameless, does that mean he was sinless?

Job 1:1 describes Job as blameless and upright and God himself said it in Job 1:8. Does that mean Job never sinned? No, it does not. Another man the Bible called blameless was Noah. Genesis 6:9 ~This is the account of Noah and his family. Noah was a righteous man, the only blameless person living on earth at the time, and he walked in close fellowship with God.

However, the Bible also tells us Noah got drunk which the Bible says is a sin in Galatians 5:21 ~ envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Noah being blameless did not mean he was sinless therefore, the Bible classifying any man as blameless does not equate sinless. It just means they walked as closely with God and stayed away from sin as much as they could. Besides, Job regularly made burnt offerings for his children in case they sinned (Job 1:5). It’s reasonable to assume he also regularly made them for himself which would make him right in God’s eyes.

Finally, as the Bible says in Romans 3:23 ~ for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
